Pakistan captain Babar Azam managed to retain his position as the number one player in the most recent International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I batting rankings, while Indian players took huge leaps.
In the latest rankings that were released Wednesday India’s Shreyas Iyer as well as Rishabh Pant were two of the top movers as the battle for the top spot gets heated in the lead up to the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in the coming months.
India defeats West Indies 4-1 in the recently concluded T20I series in the recently concluded T20I series, with Iyer and Pant having a key role in the victory.
Iyer went up six places to 19th in the overall batter rankings following an impressive half-ton in the final game during the championship in Florida Then, Pant was the second highest scorer with 115 runs with his fast-fire 44 during the 4th game which saw the left-hander climb seven positions to the 59th spot.
Presently, Babar is placed at the top with an impressive 818 rating points. However the Indian Suryakumar Yadav is not far from him, as he holds 805 points of rating. In the last week, he was at 816 points which was two points behind Babar.
