CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said Alfa Romeo plans to build a big new car for the US market late last week.
According to Reuters, as reported by Reuters, the all-new vehicle will bring Alfa Romeo into a new market area, above the Stelvio midsize SUV and Tonale hybrid sedan, as well as the Giulia sedan.
Expanding beyond its traditional European audience, Alfa Romeo plans to use the larger vehicle to strengthen its presence in the United States and China, as well as in its home region.
Speaking after the announcement of the first half results of parent company Stellantis, Alfa’s Imparato boss said: “Our offering of a full-size car has to adapt to international markets, the US, China, Europe”.
The company has yet to decide which vehicles will be the new vehicles. And while a full-size SUV might seem like a good fit for current car buyers, the Imparato is keeping an open mind for now.
Talking about whether it will be an SUV, a sedan or a crossover somewhere, Imparato said: “We wanted to find the right combination. This is the decision we will make at the end of the year. »
Alfa is in no hurry to decide yet, especially since the company says the new car won’t go on sale until 2027.
